How do you transform an old, boxy SUV into a state-of-the-art one? The answer to this question was recently provided by the team at West Coast Customs gezeigt.
In an insane metamorphosis, the well-known tuner has transformed an old GMC Suburban into a dreamlike Cadillac Escalade. And no, it's not a rendering, but a real conversion.
Old car with a new soul
The owner of the Suburban wanted something special. His wish was a SUV, which has the safety and comfort of a modern car, but at the same time the charm and robust look of the old Suburban. So he turned to West Coast Customs (WCC), who are known for their spectacular conversions. After vehicles for celebrities such as Shaquille O'Neal, Jennifer Lopez and Will.i.am It was now time for the next project.
The challenges that the project posed, however, were incredibly high. WCC began by separating the old Suburban from its chassis. The goal: to mount the old GMC on the platform of a current Escalade. While this may sound like a simple “body swap,” the process required much more than that.
Precision and craftsmanship
Although the Suburban and the Escalade are similarly huge, they are far from comparable or even identical. Numerous adjustments had to be made to both the Suburban and the Escaladeto achieve the right fit.
The fenders of the Escalade, which is wider than the Suburban, had to be massively modified. It took countless hours of work until everything fit together perfectly.

And another highlight of the renovation is the Interior. The customer wanted a combination of ivory and brown with diamond quilting on the seats. And the tuner implemented the specifications in a dreamlike manner and created a luxurious interior that more than met the customer's high expectations. And the body was given an individual paint job in the form of a two-tone look in metallic brown and white, which was complemented by copper details on the grille, window frames and rims.
A unique vehicle: The Suburbalade
After months of work and countless hours of work, the time had finally come. modification, now known as "suburban ballad“, was ready for the first test drive. He sees like the classic roader, which the owner loved until now, but has the luxury and technology of a modern Escalade under the sheet metal.
